Aftercare

Our care and concern do not end with the funeral. Our funeral directors, as well as our Aftercare Coordinators, Mary Lou Pizzullo and Deborah Myslinski, are available to families for any assistance they may need.

Aftercare is a comprehensive service through which we maintain a helpful and ongoing caring relationship with families in pre-need and followed through to at-need. Aftercare responds to the needs of the family in a way that promotes healing. Being an integral part of the arrangement process we, along with the Funeral Directors, are able to lend suggestions that help a family commemorate the life of their loved one. Aftercare's foremost commitment is to focus on the emotional adjustment and meeting the needs of all family members. Our statement of commitment to all families is one of sensitivity, service, support and sincerity.

In addition, the Aftercare Department is available to answer questions that nearly everyone faces and can assist families with the details of practical issues (i.e. Social Security, pension, wills). This type of service affords to a family a comfort level knowing a support system is available. Aftercare Coordinators maintain ongoing relationships in the event one needs bereavement and/or practical guidance. Support groups through the funeral home are available to families as well as community-sponsored groups.

A lending library can be found at all Saul Funeral Home locations with many helpful books and pamphlets. Please feel free to browse an extensive online grief library here.

Aftercare Sponsors community service programs (i.e. to local school systems, churches, senior organizations, youth groups) on information pertaining to the life changes following a death of a loved one. In addition, an annual "Light of Remembrance" ecumenical Memorial Service is held for all families served during the past year.
