Conrad “Rod” Eib, Jr., 87, of Trenton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Eib graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1948. He served as a member of the NJ National Guard from 1954 to 1957, and was retired from Hajoca Plumbing Supply.
Predeceased by his parents, Conrad Eib, Sr. and Ethel Marie (Davison) Eib; his beloved wife, Constance A. (Severino) Eib; step-son, Carl J. Carney; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Emily Eib and John and Mabel Eib, and a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Leroy Pedersen; he is survived by his stepdaughter and her husband, Lynda and Larry Baldasari; grandchildren, Lauren Baldasari, Larry Baldasari, Jr. and Meredith Baldasari, Jon Baldasari and Jessica Schoenleber, Marc Carney, and Shawn Carney; his beloved great-grandchildren, Gianna and Bianca Baldasari, Marc John Carney and Cayla Carney; sisters-in-law, Frances Severino and Suzie Carney; a cousin, Joan Boelhouwer; and many nieces and nephews.
“Sonny”, as Conrad was known, was a respected and successful football and basketball coach in the area in the 1950’s and early 1960’s. He coached many players from the Pop Warner level to semi-pro. Some of the athletes he coached made it to the NFL and NBA. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, had season tickets, and was present at their NFL Championship victory in 1960. He was ecstatic over the Eagles 2018 Super Bowl win. Conrad was also a fan of old movies and a collector of numerous DVD’s from the golden era of films.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
Burial will be private.
