Doris M. Dirlam, 91, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center at Morris Hall, Lawrenceville, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a lifelong Hamilton resident. Mrs. Dirlam was employed at Fort Dix Army base as an Executive Secretary to several Lieutenant Colonels before deciding to raise a family. Later in life, she was employed with the State of New Jersey, Division of Motor Vehicles where she served as Executive Secretary to several Directors before her retirement in 1987. Doris received special recognition from the State of New Jersey for her outstanding service.
Doris lived a wonderful life together with her husband, Wayne E. Dirlam, Sr. for 65 years. Their love story was something admired by all who knew them. They frequently visited Atlantic City, joining friends on the bus from Hamilton Square. After their retirement, they spent many years cruising and touring the world.
She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church where she attended mass each week with her family. She also was an active member of the Nottingham Squares Senior Citizen Club for many years.
Predeceased by her parents, Madeline J. (Delozier) and Sylvester J. Behan and her husband of 65 years, Wayne E. Dirlam, Sr.; she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne, Jr. and Diane Dirlam; her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Michael Lescrinier; her granddaughters, Kayti Ciaramella and her husband, Dom, Janine Casavant and her husband, Evan, and Jessica Lescrinier; and her great-granddaughter, Kailey Ciaramella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq., NJ 08690.
Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum, Hamilton, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq., NJ 08690.
