Joseph L. Kownacki, 79, of Robbinsville, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Kownacki was a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-1964. Joe went on to work in engineering sales for D&W Blueprint and Nades, until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bordentown and the Elks in Ewing. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and classic car restoration.
Predeceased by his parents, Leon and Julia (Gdowski) Kownacki; he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lorraine E. (Talevi) Kownacki; his son, Stephen Kownacki and wife, Desiree; his grandchildren, Camron, Joseph, Nicholas and Arianna; his sister, Kathleen Weeks and husband, Ed; his mother-in-law, Florence Talevi, who helped care for him as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will begin on Friday, February, 17, 2017, at 9 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Hamilton, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017, from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
