Leslie Albert Torrington, 84, of Robbinsville, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrence Twp., NJ.
Born in London, England, Mr. Torrington has resided in the United States for 51 years. Mr. Torrington received the Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from the South East Essex College of Technology in London England in 1963. He joined RCA in the United States as a Design Engineer in 1967 after working for Ford Motor Company in the UK. Mr. Torrington has been retired for 20 years and 7 months from RCA Astro Space where he was an Aerospace Engineer with over a dozen patents to his credit.
Predeceased by his parents, William and Grace Torrington and his loving wife of 47 years, Catherine Veronica (Nason) Torrington; he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Carrie Hodgkiss-Torrington of California, Tony and Lisa Torrington of Robbinsville, NJ and Leslie Andrew and Laura Torrington of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Brooke, Drake, Paige, Lucien and William Torrington; his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bob Plater of England; his sister-in-law, Sylvie Torrington of England and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Allentown, NJ.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
