Arthur L. Miller, Sr., 90 of Hamilton, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton,, NJ, he was a lifelong area resident. Arthur retired from General Electric after 37 years as an assembler. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, and Volunteer for Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) before WWII, and was a volunteer for Liberty Chapter of the Deborah Research Center. He was an honorably discharged US Army veteran having served in the 273rd Infantry, 69th Division; European theatre. They were the 1st American Division to encounter Russian Troops in Germany. He then served in Berlin following the end of WWII.
Predeceased by his parents, Oscar J. and Bertha Guttschall Miller and his 13 siblings, he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Hedden Miller; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Brock Lovero; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur L. Jr. and Christina Miller; four grandchildren, Sherri (Dean) Chianese, Stephanie Lovero-Bogetti, Aimee Lee Miller and Michael (Angela) Miller, two great-grandchildren Carlene and Allison Chianese, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00noon on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Christ Presbyterian Church, 746 Klockner Road, Hamilton.
Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Presbyterian Church.
Services are under the direction of Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
