Barbara J. Conway, 70, of Hamilton, New Jersey, was a collector of Christmas decorations; an avid baker; a skilled card player, who could shoot the moon almost without trying; a lover of animals; and a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother.
Barbara passed away on June 8, 2018 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center after a lengthy battle against cancer.
Born in Mexico, Missouri, Barbara graduated from Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg, Missouri, with a bachelors in Foods and Management. Barbara was a trained dietician and worked as Food Service Manager at Saint Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. She was also a consulting dietician at medical facilities in Amherst, MA; Buffalo, NY; and Hadley, MA. A licensed real estate broker, Barbara worked for Jay Robert Realtors of Hamilton, NJ.
Her volunteer activities in the community included Hamilton Meals on Wheels, the Morgan Elementary School PTA, St. Mark Methodist Church and the Hamilton Cub Scouts.
She was predeceased by her brother, James Lee Battles, and her father, Jack Lee Battles.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Malcolm Conway of Hamilton Square; her mother, Betty Jo Battles of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons—Matthew Conway of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and Christopher Conway of San Francisco, California—and their partners, Charlotte Conway and Hilleary Osheroff; and five grandchildren: Annabel, Alexander, Oliver, Wallace and Wesley.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a service following at St. Mark Methodist Church, 465 Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08690.
