Charles M. Walsh, Sr., 87, of Columbus, NJ, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Walsh was a member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Byzantine Catholic Church for more than 60 years. He was an electrician for Local 269. Charles’ happiest times were spent fishing, watching the Phillies and being with his family.
Predeceased by his parents, Charles T. and Elizabeth (Kochis) Walsh; his son, David P. Walsh; and his brother, Robert Walsh; he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Ann E. (Oberding) Walsh; his son, Charles, Jr. “Marty” and his wife, Jenniffer Walsh; his granddaughters, Jessica Soltis and her husband, James, Kelly and Alyssa Walsh; his great grandson, Theodore Soltis; his brother, Donald Walsh and his wife, Mary; his sisters-in-law, Betty Walsh and Betty Fisher; his brother-in-law, Michael Oberding; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Byzantine RC Church, Grand and Malone Streets, Trenton.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's of the Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery No. 2 in Hamilton, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
