Edward W. Reichard, age 91, of Hamilton Square passed away Sunday at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA.
Born in New York, Mr. Reichard was a resident of the Trenton/Hightstown area before moving to Hamilton Square in 1920. He was a retired Sergeant with the New Jersey State Department of Corrections in Trenton for 26 years and was formerly employed with Office Specialties for 10 years. Mr. Reichard was a member of the Hamilton Square Baptist Church, a member of the Silver Squares Senior Citizens Club and a former member of Hamilton Grange #79, Patrons of Husbandry. He was a passionate vegetable gardener, a leader of the 4-H Club, an avid card player and an outdoorsman who loved hunting and camping.
Son of the late Walter J. and Barbara Reichard and father of the late Robert J. Reichard, he is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Mae Litchendorf Reichard; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and David Tindall of Doylestown, PA; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Reichard Butcher and her husband, Stephen of Cream Ridge, NJ; eight grandchildren, Mark Tindall and his wife Barbara of Media, PA, Scott Tindall and his wife Denise of Souderton, PA, Jeff Tindall and his wife Silvia of Yardley, PA, Dr. Robynlee Reichard-Bianco and her husband Charles of Ringoes, NJ, Karen Durbin and her husband Warren, Robert J. Reichard, Jr. and his wife Beth all of New Egypt, NJ, Darryl Butcher and Duane Butcher both of Hamilton, NJ; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1PM at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square with Rev. Douglas R. Valentine and Pastor Mark Tindall, officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 12 Noon until time of service at the Colonial Home.
