Felix F. Scirgova, 86, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday in Hamilton Continuing Care Center.
Born in Trenton, he was a longtime area resident.
Mr. Scirgova was a US Navy veteran aboard the aircraft carrier, Bella Wood during WWII. He took part in the Battle of the Philippines and received the Purple Heart and the Air Medal.
A graduate of Trenton High, Class of 1940, he was employed at CFI Steel for 22 years and retired from the State of NJ Forensic Hospital in 1991.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church and the Hamilton Township Special Police for many years, and was also a security officer for Shop-Rite markets.
Son of the late John and Frances Gesing Skirgalo, father of the late Jean Stillwell, and brother of the late Albert Skirgalo and Eleanor Molnar, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Wood Scirgova; his son, Raymond Scirgova of Mercerville; his daughter, Marianne Funk of Mercerville; his son-in-law, William Stillwell of West Windsor; his grandchildren, Carla Scirgova, Richard Funk, Angelica Funk, Julie Funk, and Joseph Stillwell; his great-granddaughter, Hailey Rose Murphy; his sister, Jean Albanowski of Trenton; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin 10am Saturday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State Street Extension, Mercerville.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
