Jean E. Chapman, 81, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Hamilton Grove Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Hamilton.
Born and raised in Port Colden, New Jersey, Mrs. Chapman moved to Hamilton in 1961 and has been a longtime resident. She was a secretary for Firmenich, Inc., before retiring over 14 years ago. She was a member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church and the NJ Beach Buggy Association (NJ BBA). Mrs. Chapman enjoyed knitting, crocheting, yard sales and loved camping.
Predeceased by her parents, James Michael and Margaret (Hance) Hann and her husband, Louis M. Chapman, Jr.; Mrs. Chapman is survived by her son, James Chapman; her daughter, Nancy Dempsey; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Charles Seeley and Brenda and Robert Horn; her sister-in-law, Helen Miller; her grandchildren, Daina Nicole Dempsey and Joseph Michael Dempsey, II and his girlfriend, Michelle Tamasi; her great-grandchildren, Kobe John Mills, Joella Skye Dempsey, Jillian Tamasi, and Lane and Michael Klose; many nieces and nephews and her dog, Pumpkin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, New Jersey.
Interment will follow at Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Stewartsville, New Jersey.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
