Mae O. Fenton passed away peacefully on October 26, 2018, at Arcadia Nursing Home, at the age of 95.
Mae Fenton was the daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Remsen. She was the widow of Russell B. Fenton.
Mae held several jobs throughout her long life, Lanning School Cafeteria baker, Heinemann Electric, Lenape Ceramics, and finally in her later years, as an escort at RMJ University Hospital. Mae enjoyed crocheting, and playing pinochle. She was a past member of the choir at Wesley United Methodist Church, a past member of Sweet Adeline’s, and so enjoyed singing. She loved cooking for her family and having big family dinners on Sunday, and baking cookies at Christmas with her Mom. Reading books was Mae’s big passion and couldn’t have enough books to read.
Mae was predeceased by her brothers, Elmer, George and Bob; and sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth (Betty) Sciangola, and Elsie Remsen. She was also predeceased by her loving daughter, Susan M. Davis. She is survived by her two sons (and daughters-in-law), David N. Fenton, (Beryl); Russell B. Fenton (Mary); her daughter, Cynthia L. Dowd (James); her grandchildren, Jason and Heather Moss, Mark and Michael Fenton, Katie Caito, Lauren Fenton, Jennifer Dowd and Melissa Scabarozi; and her 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special loving niece, Janet Ford; and several other nieces and nephews.
Many thanks go out to Arcadia Nursing Home Staff, with special thanks to Mary and a special thank you to Lance, who Mae loved and trusted. Thanks to everyone at Kindred Hospice, but special thanks and hugs to Karen, her aide, to whom Mae loved and couldn’t have wished for a better aide.
