Nathaniel S. Bouchelle, 85, of Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, Nate was a lifelong area resident. He was discharged from the naval reserves after 33 years and retired after 39 years of service with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Nate was a superintendent of Tantum Park in Robbinsville and a member of the recreation committee. He enjoyed his time as a volunteer fireman in Robbinsville for 30 years and served as the Fire Commissioner for 16 years. He was an avid bowler and participated on several bowling leagues throughout the years as well as helping coach both the Allentown and Robbinsville Little League Baseball.
Predeceased by his father, Nathaniel Bouchelle; his son, Dennis Bouchelle; his sisters, Reba VanHouton and Shirley Budassi and his brother, Charles Bouchelle; he is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Shirley (Weart) Bouchelle; his caring children, Deborah Frein and husband, Michael, and Ronald Bouchelle and wife, Rosemarie; his 8 loving grandchildren; 13 cherished great-grandchildren; 1 adored great-great-grandchild; his sister-in-law, Audrey Lawrence as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
