Robert J. Furman, Sr., 89, of Bordentown, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Capital Health Systems at Hopewell.
Born in Trenton, Mr. Furman lived in Hamilton Square for over 35 years, retiring to Rotunda West, Florida. He returned to New Jersey settling in Bordentown 14 years ago. He retired 20 years ago from the U.S Postal Service where he held various positions. Mr. Furman completed his career as a supervisor, coordinating the logistics of postal trailers at the main branch of the Hamilton Post Office.
Mr. Furman and his late wife Lois loved to travel. They took many road trips in their RV to see the USA.
He enjoyed golfing and his weekly card game with friends and neighbors, as well as trips to Atlantic City. Above all else, Mr. Furman cherished time with his family.
Predeceased by his parents, Omar and Helen (Pasierb) Furman; his wife, Lois (Pontani) Furman; and his sibling; he is survived by his children and their spouses, Diane and Norman Linker and Robert J. Jr. and Sharon Furman; his grandchildren, Melissa Buck and her husband, Duane and Robert Furman, III; his great-granddaughter, Madison Grace Buck; and several loving nieces and nephews, including his godson, Theodore Robert.
Private cremation services are under the direction of Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
