Robert J. Wieck, age 81, of Plainsboro, NJ passed away Wednesday in the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in South Aqueduct, NY, he was raised in the Union City, NJ area. After his time in the service, he lived in Brooklyn from 1950 until 2002. He has lived with his son and daughter-in-law in Plainsboro, NJ from that time. In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed reading and gardening.
Mr. Wieck was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army 83rd Infantry Division after serving in WWII most notably in the European Theatre. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star among other decorations and citations.
Predeceased by his wife Mary L. Natoli Wieck in 1975, and a brother Henry Joseph Wieck who died while serving in the US Army Air Corp in WWII, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Henry J. and Nancy T. Wieck of Plainsboro; and three grandchildren Robert W., Christopher G. and Jonathan H. Wieck all of Plainsboro.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:00AM Saturday from Queenship of Mary RC Church, 19 Dey Road, Plainsboro, NJ.
Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, NY.
Relatives and friends may call 2-4PM and 7-9PM Friday at the funeral home.
