Rocco Frank Calogero, 91, of West Windsor, NJ, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the Francis E. Parker Home in Piscataway, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Calogero then resided in Staten Island, Manahawkin, NJ and has spent the past 18 years in West Windsor, NJ. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1944-1945 and during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. He went on to work as a supervisor with the Motor Transit Division of the New York City Police Department until his retirement 30 years ago. Mr. Calogero was a member of the Cespino-Russo American Legion and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, both in Staten Island. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. David the King RC Church in West Windsor.
Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Caroline (Pascarella) Calogero; and his brothers, Donato “Daniel” Calogero and Anthony Calogero; he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie A. (Graffeo) Calogero; his children, Caroline C. Calogero and husband, Arthur W. Brooks, of Plainsboro, NJ, Michael V. Calogero and wife, Theresa, of Allentown, PA, and Janine M. Calogero and husband, Edward P. Freeland, of Lawrenceville, NJ; his 11 grandchildren, Anthony, Marie, Patricia, Marie, Cristina, Victoria, Juliet, Michele, Caroline, Edward and Maura; his great-granddaughter, Eleanor; and his niece, Carol.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. David the King RC Church, 1 New Village Road, West Windsor.
Interment will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the A.S. Cole Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 North Main Street, Cranbury, NJ and on Monday, December 3, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. David the King RC Church.
