Russell LeRoy Humphrey, 94, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, in the comfort of his home after a brief illness.

He was born and raised in Trenton and later moved to Hamilton, where he raised his family. Russell was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees. He served in the South Pacific during World War II, and with his unit, received the bronze star for valor.

Russell was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows/St. Anthony Parish, where he served as an usher for many years. He loved the 1940’s big bands, especially Glenn Miller. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was going to Hot Dog Johnny’s with his sons or traveling with his daughter. Many fun hours were spent with the grand kids and great-grand kids as their caregiver.

Holy Redeemer Hospice was involved in Russell’s final days and they are to be thanked and commended for their kindness and gentle care.
