Salvatore "Sonny" Monaco, 83, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, passed away Wednesday in Monroe surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sonny attended St. Athanasius School.
He was a resident of New Jersey and Florida, and a member of St. James Church in Jamesburg, NJ.
He enjoyed spending time at the beach, home cooked Italian meals, old western movies, fishing and especially enjoyed taking walks with his grandchildren.
Son of the late Pasquale and Anna Monaco, he is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Lena; his daughter, Roseanne of Monroe; his son, Pasquale of Wellington, FL; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will begin 9am Monday at the A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 North Main St., Cranbury, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am at St James The Less Parish, 36 Lincoln Ave, Jamesburg, NJ.
Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY.
