Theodore (Ted) Q. Koons, 82, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, at his home.
Born in New York, he grew up in Bayside Queens then moved to New Jersey in 1969. In 1988 he moved to Texas and later moved to Florida in 2013. Theodore honorably served his country in the US Army 101st Airborne and retired from JC Penney where he worked as an inventory control manager. Ted’s happiest times were spent with his family.
Predeceased by his parents, C. Ward and Charlotte (Bernius) Koons; his wife, Jo-Ann (Boltuch) Koons; and his brothers, Bob Bernius and Donald Koons; he is survived by his children, Russell and his wife, Dr. Wanda, Needell, Bill Needell and his husband, Jim Denietolis, Jim and his wife, Stacy, Needell, and Suzanne Koons Helmold; his grandchildren, Marissa, Jared, Maxwell, Katie and Abby Needell, Ben Helmold, and Julia Needell; his sister, Beverly Koons; and his beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. followed by words of remembrance at 11:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.
