Pieter Dirk Herman Dumpel, 71, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Batavia, Indonesia, Pieter spent time in Holland and has resided in the Princeton/Hamilton area since 1960. He was employed with McGraw Hill for 29 years, prior to his retirement. He then worked for Merck for a brief time. Pieter enjoyed playing and coaching tennis and was proud to play with Rider University. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, Frits and Ferdinanda (Van Casand) Dumpel; he is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda (Fountain) Dumpel; his devoted children and their spouses, David and Diana Dumpel, Daniel and Jamie Dumpel and Dianna and Justin Hochella; his adoring grandchildren, Devyn, Danyelle, Dylan and Frits; and his sister, Erica Dumpel and her family.
A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Hamilton Square, 3550 Nottingham Way, Hamilton NJ 08690.
