Levia Catherine Martinetti, 102, beloved wife of fifty years of the late Isadore J. Martinetti, passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Mercerville Center in Hamilton, NJ.
Born in Elinora, PA on Wednesday, April 5, 1916, to the late Virginia (nee Fraboni) and Augustino Mazzoni, Lee moved to the Hutchinson Mills area of Hamilton in 1929 with her parents and five siblings who predeceased her: Americo (Sam) Mazzoni, Severina (Rena) Mangus, Edith Natter, Italo (Babe) Mazzoni and Ulderico (Goocho) Mazzoni.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond of Hamilton and Richard and Gail of Lawrenceville; and a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and William Hogan of Princeton.
Nonna will forever live in the hearts of her beloved grandchildren, John Martinetti of Hamilton, Dr. Paul and Margaret Martinetti of Washington Crossing, Greg and Amy Martinetti of Philadelphia, Jill and Michael Smith of North Caldwell, Beth and Alfred McNeal of Hamilton, Kimberly and Karl Moore of New Hope and William Hogan of Hamilton. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Erin Hogan Curcio.
Nonna was blessed with nine precious great-grandchildren to carry on her legacy of love, laughter, family celebrations and candy kisses: Michaela, Jeremy, Justin and Mia Smith; Audra and Logan Moore; Julianna and Samantha Martinetti, and Louis Martinetti. She is also survived by many faithful nieces, nephews and neighbors.
Lee and Izzy were founding members of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in 1939. She was a devoted member of its Rosary-Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister who took Communion to the home bound and nursing facilities for over twenty years. She was a member of the funeral choir and a lifetime member of the Mount Carmel Guild. Lee was an active member of PTA at the many Hamilton Township schools her three children attended serving as a Membership Chair for over a decade. She was a member of the Rambling Girls Card Club for 63 years with her life-long girlfriends.
Lee worked for New York Furriers and retired in 1979 from Atlantic Products Corporation where she was a loyal employee for 30 years.
During a full century of life, she was totally dedicated to her family, friends, and faith and her generous spirit gave endless hours to volunteering. Her advice was always wise, her insight unrivaled and her love unwavering.
Her family wishes to thank the staff of the Mercerville Center for the kind and gentle care they so patiently provided her.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, 3816 E. State St. Ext., Hamilton, NJ, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Lee’s memory to the Mount Carmel Guild, 73 North Clinton Ave., Trenton, NJ 08609.
